January 4th Class

Hello Parents and Families,

**Please Read the Important Information at the bottom of this Post**

During today's class we talked about Reconciliation.

We talked about how sometimes we do things that do not make us feel good inside. When we do something that makes us sad inside or not proud of ourselves it is called a sin.  We talked about how we all make sins because we are human and nobody is perfect. We talked about how Jesus will always love us no matter what we do because he died on the cross for our sins.

We talked about temptation and how we can ask an adult to help us take away the things that tempt us.

We watched a little video that helped to explain Reconciliation a bit more. It talked about how when you sin you are pulling your hand away from Jesus but Jesus never turns away from us.

We discussed different kinds of sins and how those are the things that we tell Jesus we are sorry for doing. We talked about how when we want to say I'm sorry to Jesus we can go to Reconciliation at church and talk to Father Pat.

We wrote down in our Reconciliation Prayer something that we feel sorry for and how we could make a better choice next time. We told the children that they can take this paper to Reconciliation to help them when they tell Father Pat what they are sorry for.

We also told them that they can take their Reconciliation Booklet because on page 11 is the Act of Contrition Prayer. If they forget the booklet there will be copies of the prayer in the Chapel.

We read the book "Martha doesn't say sorry!" by Samantha Berger. This book showed the children how important it is to say I'm Sorry when we do something that we shouldn't have done. It ties right in to the idea of how we can say I'm sorry at our Reconciliation.
At the end of class we filled out our Exit Tickets

and I read a couple of scenarios from the book "I did it, I'm sorry." by Caralyn Buehner.

December 7th Class

Hello Parents and Families,
Our December 7th class was a lovely time for us to get together as a class and celebrate the holiday of Christmas with love and friendship.
We played the "game" Write the Room Nativity version. We used our clipboards and walked all around the room. We matched the words and pictures to write the words on our papers to the ones hanging in our classroom.

We then read the book "Small Camel Follows the Star". This story is about the three Kings visiting Jesus with his gifts. It's told by the little camel that goes along on the journey.
Then we were able to have our treat that Miss Erica made for us. Super Jumbo Chocolate Chip Christmas Cookies.... YUM!
It was a joyous and peaceful start to our holiday!

Our next class is Sunday, Jan. 4th
